Wize Monkey Coffee Leaf Tea
The coffee bean harvest season in Nicaragua lasts from December to March, resulting in 80 percent of coffee workers having jobs for only 3-4 months per year. But by upcycling the typically wasted prunings from the coffee plant, Wize Monkey is able to generate year-round jobs for coffee workers that would otherwise have to regularly move their families in search of temporary off-season work. As an innovator of Coffee Leaf Tea, Wize Monkey rediscovered a centuries-old traditional beverage and reinvented it to create not only a delicious cup of tea, but also open up a new product industry for coffee farmers.
