Save the Bees
Bees are critical to a sustainable future. They are our planet’s heroic winged workforce. Not only do bees create delicious, nutrient-rich (raw) honey, but they are also directly responsible for a third of our global food supply. That means, one in every three bites of food we eat comes on the hard working backs of bees.
These horticultural heroes transfer pollen and seeds from flower to flower, fertilizing plants so they can grow and produce food. Without bees to pollinate our crops, there would be no food to harvest.
But bees have been facing some hard times as of late, with mass die-offs caused from use of pesticides, loss of habitat, pollution and more. From spring 2017 to 2018, 40 percent of honeybee colonies collapsed. And more and more are edging toward extinction.
It’s important to support bees and other pollinators, understand the threats they face, and appreciate their contribution to the sustainable development of our planet. By choosing ethically and sustainably produced products over other brands, and supporting social causes, we can send a message to government officials and business leaders around that world that change is needed.
