Where ocean conservation meets adventure

Project AWARE is a global movement of scuba divers protecting our ocean one dive at a time. With conservation efforts focused on the critical issues of sharks & rays in peril and marine debris. Project AWARE empowers divers around the world to work together to protect underwater environments. And help create clean, healthy and abundant oceans.

By connecting a passion for ocean adventure with the purpose of marine conservation, Project AWARE takes necessary action to create both local and global change for the ocean and communities who depend on it. Each year, a variety of initiatives are pursued under their Healthy Ocean and Clean Ocean programs. Including advocating for the full protection of shark species listed as Endangered and pursuing regulations to ban the removal of shark fins at sea. Plus efforts to reduce the underwater impact of marine debris and prevent trash from continuing to enter our oceans.
