The Tropics Roo Swim Trunks
Plastic is a short-lived convenience in our day-to-day lives, with upwards of 300 million tons of it produced each year. But while convenient and easily discarded for humans, all of this plastic waste has to end up somewhere; with too much of it making its way into our waterways and oceans. This pervasive polluter is choking our planet’s natural marine habitats, bringing an ever-growing level of distress and death to over 100 million marine mammals each year. In an effort to keep our beaches and oceans plastic free, and help spread sustainable awareness, swimwear and beach goods company The Tropics made the decisions to create all of their products from recycled plastics. By working with REPREVE, a leading producer of performance fiber made from recycled materials, The Tropics is doing their part to keep harmful plastics out of our oceans. Their Roo Trunk is made from made from 11 post-consumer plastic bottles, which the company collects during their beach cleanups and sends to a facility for processing, eventually getting converted into recycled fabrics. The resulting 4-way stretch, 100% recycled swim trunks offer a high level of comfort and style, while also helping to keep our oceans and beaches clean. The Tropics also donates a portion of their proceeds through a partnership with 1% for the Planet.
