Sperry Authentic Original BIONIC Boat Shoe delivers a classic in bold, new sustainable style. The graphic pattern takes inspiration from spinnaker sails and summer colors. Featuring a 360° Lacing System for a customized fit and Ortholite cushioning for all-day comfort. With an upper made using BIONIC material, woven from an average of 5 recycled plastic bottles rescued from our oceans.
On average, Americans use and toss out 167 plastic water bottles every year with less than one-third being recycled. Much of this discarded plastic ends up in our natural environment, eventually being carried out to sea as part of the 8 million tons of plastic waste entering our oceans every year. To combat the growing tide of ocean plastics, Sperry created their BIONIC collection, using material spun from plastic recovered from marine and coastal environments.
Sperry also engages with consumers and partners, such as Waterkeep Alliance, to find new ways to build awareness, share sustainable solutions, and deliver positive change together.
