Samsonite Eco-Glide 20″ Expandable Spinner
When it comes to travel, single-use plastic waste is an overwhelming global problem. On average, people use dozens of single-use plastics everyday while traveling, for everything from bottled water and straws to shopping bags and soap/shampoo containers. When you consider that over a billion people travel abroad every year, the resulting impact on the environment is staggering. Luckily many companies are doing their part to remove, reuse or recycle single-use plastics. Luggage company Samsonite has introduced a new line of environmentally friendly spinner suitcases made from recycled plastic bottles. All fabrics of the ECO collection, including the lining, are all made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, which are melted down into a liquid polymer, purified into filament yarn, and then woven into a durable fabric to create the ECO bag. In addition to the environmental positives, Samsonite touts the bag as being designed to be lightweight, strong, and stylish, with better pockets, better zippers, and better compartment expansion. In short, better luggage doing its part to create a better environment.
