Each year, 8 million tons of plastic waste enters the world’s oceans, dramatically impacting fragile marine ecosystems and slowly killing off marine life. If nothing is done to combat this endless flow of trash, by 2050 the amount of plastic in the ocean will outweigh fish pound for pound. Norton Point is an eyewear brand based on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, MA, crafting affordable, stylish shades from recovered ocean plastics. Their Swell II sunglasses include ocean plastic frames and polarized lenses with anti-reflective coating for 100% UVA/UVB protection. And for every product sold, Norton Point removes one pound of plastic waste from the ocean. They also donate 5% of net profits to supporting global clean-up efforts.
